Our Team
Monica Kalra
Monica Kalra is a top professional makeup artist. She resides in Toronto, Ontario, but Monica has been able to travel abroad for work. Her love for makeup started at a very young age and after high school went on to receive her diploma in Aesthetics and a bachelors degree in Health and Society.
She has since had the pleasure of working with some big names in the fitness industry. She has helped in the beautifying process for many athletes for fitness competitions and photo shoots. Something about her touch helps make people feel their most confident and their best. There is no limit that her skills would not take and 13 years later Monica can proudly say she has plenty of her work displayed in various magazines such as Strong Fitness Magazine, Esquire Turkey, Inside Fitness, Maximum Fitness, Maxim.com, American Curves and many others.
Justine
From a young age, Justine had always been fascinated with the art of makeup and hair. She has a love for art and a creative mind and has found herself painting for the vast majority of her life. She graduated from Advanced Graphic Design but unfortunately, as much as she loved the creativity behind graphic arts, she enjoyed the social and physical interaction of meeting and being around new people every day.
She started working alongside a surgeon doing design and marketing but very quickly moved to the surgical and non-surgical side of the business, continuously learning about the skin and body. This is where she met Monica and they instantly hit it off. Together they started Violet Noir Artistry and in the time that they’ve been at this, they have built a huge clientele base, worked with some of the best photographers in the industry, and have been able to meet some of the most beautiful people.
Justine looks forward to continuously having the pleasure of meeting beautiful people, giving them a kickass shade of lipstick to rock, and always remaining creative!
Renei
Renei is our lead bridal hair stylist and Assistant Makeup Artist. She attended the Aveda Institute Toronto in 2009 and is a fully licensed stylist.
Renei first started doing bridal hair styling in 2010 when she worked with industry leader Tony Chaar. Since then she has worked to style hair for TIFF, Toronto Fashion Week, and many brides on their big day.
Renei has worked as a hair restoration technician for over four years with a satisfied clientele base. She wanted to further her education and has now become a practical nurse… she is a woman with many skills!
Renei joined our team as we expanded, and loves to make brides look beautiful on the most important day of their lives.
